Operating Safety Procedure



On Dry Side

  • Masks must be worn when arriving at the venue and are to remain correctly fitted until instructed to safe to remove on pool side.

  • Signage will be visible throughout the venue to help maintain social distancing.

  • Sanitation stations will be present for use on arrival, withing the changing rooms and on poolside.

  • When entering the changing rooms signage will be present for social distancing changing areas. Bags and items maybe left in lockers if lockers are available, bags can also be bought on to pool side and left in a sanitised area.

  • Sanitiser, anti-bacterial wipe and disinfectant spray will be available in all changing areas.

  • A one way system will be implemented where do able, venue dependant.

  • No spectators on pool side or seating galleries.

  • Set time slots for arrival to avoid cross over of classes.

In the pool

  • Reduced class sizes of 6 to help maintain social distancing and clustering.

  • Teachers will be teaching from pool side wearing face shield.

  • Lesson plans have been adjusted to ensure no contact with other swimmers, carers or teachers.

  • Equipment will be cleaned and set out on pool side for each swimmer to avoid be used or touched by the teacher and other swimmers.

  • Pool tests are carried out before lessons start to ensure the chemicals levels are correct.


  • Changing room surfaces will be wiped using anti-bacterial between classes.

  • All equipment is cleaned individually daily following a strict rota .

  • All cleaning products used to clean changing areas and equipment are anti-viral , and anti-bacterial and disinfectant.


We also follow guidance from our pool venues who we work with to maintain cleanliness of the facility, changing areas and the pool.
